What’s up, folks! It’s Braylen with Sports Noise Podcast, and after two weeks, I’m finally back to talk about it—the Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl champions!

Eagles Crush Chiefs in the Super Bowl

If I sound happy, it’s because I am! The Eagles dominated the Chiefs from start to finish. I watched every snap, and chills ran down my spine almost every play. Philly’s defense was insane:

  • Cooper DeJean had a pick-six.
  • Zack Baun made one of the best linebacker interceptions I’ve seen.
  • Strip sack on Mahomes (might have been Nolan Smith) sealed the deal.

Even with Saquon Barkley having a quiet game, the Eagles steamrolled the Chiefs. Jalen Hurts threw a DOT to DeVonta Smith in the end zone, and AJ Brown added another touchdown. Final score? Pure dominance.

Eagles’ Super Bowl Parade & Jerseys

The parade was wild—Quinyon Mitchell might have partied a little too hard, but hey, he earned it! Saquon even pulled a ball boy out to celebrate with him. Meanwhile, I surprised my dad with a Quinyon Mitchell midnight green Super Bowl jersey, and I’ve got a black AJ Brown Super Bowl jersey on the way.

Other Sports News: Mavs Trade Disaster & NHL Love

While the Eagles are thriving, my Dallas Mavericks are falling apart. Luka Dončić is now a Laker—I’m heartbroken. Meanwhile, I’ve been getting into hockey since the Mavs are depressing. The Dallas Stars are solid, and I even watched part of the USA vs. Canada Four Nations Championship (sadly, Canada won).

LeBron’s All-Star Game Drama

Oh, and speaking of basketball—LeBron James pulled a selfish move by skipping the NBA All-Star Game last minute, costing another player his first All-Star appearance. Not cool, LeBron. Meanwhile, Mac McClung stole the Dunk Contest, and Tyler Herro won the 3-Point Contest.

Spring Training & My Baseball Season

Baseball is heating up! MLB spring training is here, and Evan Carter is back for the Texas Rangers. My own baseball team just won 16-1, and yeah, I pitched—I gave up one run, but hey, it happens.

Let’s Go, Philly!

From now on, we can officially say the defending Super Bowl champions are the Philadelphia Eagles! Take that, Kermit the Frog (a.k.a. Patrick Mahomes)! See y’all next time—love y’all, and God bless!

Super Bowl LIX is a rematch for the ages – Episode 35

It’s January 30th, and we just wrapped up the AFC and NFC Championship games. Now, we know who’s headed to the Super Bowl—Eagles vs. Chiefs in a huge rematch!

Eagles Dominate Commanders – 55-23

Not trying to be biased, but the Eagles absolutely crushed Washington. First drive, the Commanders settled for a field goal instead of going for it—big mistake. Then, Saquon Barkley ripped off a 70-yard touchdown run on the Eagles’ first offensive play. From there, Philly dominated in every way.

  • Zack Baun forced a fumble
  • Quinyon Mitchell had an insane interception
  • Cooper DeJean made a clutch fourth-down stop

Oh, and 55 points? The most ever scored in an NFC Championship game. And now, there’s a chance that Brandon Graham might return for the Super Bowl in his final season. That would be legendary.

Chiefs Edge Out Bills – 32-29

In the AFC Championship, the Bills fought hard, but the Chiefs pulled it off, 32-29. James Cook had a crazy game, and Josh Allen played great, but a crucial drop by Dalton Kincaid may have cost Buffalo a shot at the win. The Bills came so close—again—but Kansas City just keeps finding ways to win.

Super Bowl LVIII: Eagles vs. Chiefs – Predictions

It’s a rematch from Super Bowl 2022, but this time, the Eagles are coming in HOT. Here’s why I think Philly has the edge:

  • The Chiefs struggled against the run vs. the Bills & Texans. Now they have to face Saquon Barkley—good luck.
  • The Eagles’ defense is stacked: Big Play Slay, Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, CJ Gardner-Johnson, and an elite pass rush.
  • Offensive line dominance: Lane Johnson, Landon Dickerson, and Cam Jurgens (back from injury).

The Chiefs have Mahomes and rookie Xavier Worthy as a new deep threat, but they haven’t faced an offense like Philly’s yet. Expect Kellen Moore to mix up the play-calling and keep KC guessing.

Of course, we all know the Chiefs and the referees are an unbeatable duo. If we even breathe on Mahomes, it’s a 15-yard penalty. But Nick Sirianni has been studying last year’s Super Bowl film, so expect a revenge game from the Birds.

Let’s Go, Philly!

We’ve got two weeks until the big game, and I’ll be back with more breakdowns and predictions. Until then, let’s go Birds!

The 2025 NFL playoffs have been wild so far – Episode 34

Sports Noise Posted on January 28, 2025 by Sports NoiseJanuary 28, 2025

We break down every game, from the Chargers’ meltdown against the Texans to the Bills dominating the Broncos and the Ravens handling the Steelers. Over in the NFC, my Eagles took care of business against the Packers, while the Commanders edged out the Bucs, and the Rams dominated the Vikings. That sets us up for an intense Divisional Round featuring Texans vs. Chiefs, Bills vs. Ravens, Eagles vs. Rams, and Lions vs. Commanders.

I also dive into college football playoffs, where Ohio State and Notre Dame will face off in the National Championship on January 20th. Plus, a little NBA update—nothing too crazy yet, but we’ll keep an eye on trades and injuries.

Make sure to tune in for the next episode, where we’ll talk playoff predictions, NFL coaching changes, and more!

We’re back with Episode 33! In this episode, I dive deep into my MLB predictions for the upcoming season, breaking down which teams I think will be above or below .500. I also go over key offseason moves, including trades, free-agent signings, and how these shifts will impact team performance.

I discuss standout teams like the Phillies, Braves, and Dodgers, all of whom I predict will dominate, along with the Yankees, Astros, and Rangers, who are looking strong this season. On the other hand, teams like the White Sox, Marlins, and Rockies aren’t looking too hot and might struggle to stay competitive.

Additionally, I highlight exciting roster changes like Juan Soto’s massive deal with the Mets, Blake Snell joining the Dodgers, and the Cubs acquiring Kyle Tucker. As always, there’s a mix of analysis, hot takes, and some fun baseball trivia, including a wild story about Danny Jansen playing for two teams in one game.

With Christmas around the corner, I also share a little holiday cheer and tease upcoming episodes packed with even more insights. Stay tuned for Episode 34, and Merry Christmas, everyone!

NFL is getting to close to call! – Episode 32

Sports Noise Posted on December 6, 2024 by Sports NoiseDecember 6, 2024

First off, I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving! I know I indulged a bit too much—gaining what felt like 20 to 30 pounds from six glorious meals. But let’s be real: Thanksgiving isn’t just about food; it’s also about football. And wow, what a Thanksgiving slate we had this year.

Thanksgiving Showdowns

The early game featured the Chicago Bears against the Detroit Lions, and what a mess it turned into for the Bears. The Lions squeaked out a 23-20 victory, but the real drama was Chicago’s coaching disaster. With nine seconds on the clock and a timeout in hand, the Bears chucked a hopeless deep pass instead of managing the clock smartly. Head Coach Matt Eberflus defended his clock management in the press conference, but let’s face it—he didn’t exactly shine in that department.

Next up, the New York Giants took on the Dallas Cowboys. As a Giants fan, this one stung. The Cowboys came out on top 27-20, and while the game wasn’t thrilling, it was solid. Daniel Jones was cut before this matchup, leaving the Giants in even murkier waters. Dallas got the W, but not without some clumsy moments, including a rare Cooper Rush scramble that ended in a fumble.

Finally, the Miami Dolphins fell to the Green Bay Packers in a snow-filled battle, 30-17. Green Bay’s Jordan Love was on fire, while Miami’s offense struggled to get the ball to star wide receiver Tyreek Hill. It’s time for the Dolphins’ coaching staff to figure out how to better utilize their wideouts instead of relying so heavily on the run game.

Weekend Drama

Thanksgiving wasn’t the only action-packed day. Other standout games included:

  • Chiefs vs. Raiders: Kansas City continues to skate by with narrow wins, taking this one 19-17. Patrick Mahomes and crew remain dominant, but the Raiders showed flashes of resilience.
  • Eagles vs. Ravens: Fly, Eagles, fly! Philly snagged a hard-fought win, 24-19. As an Eagles fan, it’s always a good day when we get the W.
  • 49ers vs. Bills: In a snowy showdown, the Buffalo Bills dominated the San Francisco 49ers. The California team clearly wasn’t ready for the harsh weather conditions.
  • Buccaneers vs. Panthers: This was an overtime thriller. The Buccaneers capitalized on a fumble by Panthers RB Chuba Hubbard to seal a 26-23 victory with a clutch field goal.

Fantasy Football Frustrations

This week was a rollercoaster for my fantasy team. Despite my best efforts, Jerry Jeudy came out of nowhere with two touchdowns and a ton of yards, crushing my chances. Fantasy football giveth, and it taketh away.

NBA Quick Hits

Switching gears to the NBA, we’re seeing some surprising standings at the midway point. In the Western Conference, the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets sit at the top, while the Denver Nuggets are hanging on at eighth. Over in the East, the Cleveland Cavaliers lead the pack, with the Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic rounding out the top three.

Looking Ahead

As we enter the second half of the NFL season, things are heating up, and the race to the playoffs is tighter than ever. Tonight, the Packers take on the Lions. While I’m no Packers fan, I’ll be rooting for them because I need the Lions to lose—anything to help my Eagles.

Thanks for tuning in to this week’s episode of Sports Noise. I’ll be back next time with even more to talk about as we get closer to playoff season. Until then, keep your fantasy rosters updated, and let’s hope for fewer coaching blunders on game day. See you soon!

2024 World Series is here and ready to go – Episode 28

Sports Noise Posted on November 6, 2024 by Sports NoiseNovember 6, 2024

https://sportsnoise.com/audio/2024/10/sports-noise-episode28-2024-world-series-is-here-and-ready-to-go.mp3

Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 16:18 — 4.3MB)

Today we’re diving into some major baseball news. The 2024 World Series matchup is set: it’s the New York Yankees facing off against the Los Angeles Dodgers. I’ll break down the historical rivalry between these two teams, who have clashed in the World Series 11 times. The Yankees currently lead the rivalry with eight wins to the Dodgers’ three.

Let’s recap the history quickly:

  • The Yankees dominated the early matchups, winning the first five times they faced the Dodgers, from 1941 through 1953.
  • The Dodgers got their first series win in 1955, but the Yankees have largely kept the upper hand.
  • The last time these two teams met in the Series was in 1981, where the Dodgers emerged victorious.

Predictions for This Series

While I’m personally rooting for the Dodgers, I think they might have the edge this year. With stars like Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman, the Dodgers have strong talent, even with some injuries in their pitching lineup. The Yankees, led by Aaron Judge and Gerrit Cole, have an impressive roster too, but I feel the Dodgers’ superstar lineup is more effective overall.

In other sports news, I’ll be updating on my fantasy football league and how my team has been performing. We’ll also touch on the upcoming NFL games and a few player injuries to watch. Next episode will focus on fantasy football and a recap of the first two games of the World Series. Tune in every Wednesday for more sports updates, predictions, and fun analysis.

Recap on the 2024 NFL mid season and MLB playoffs – Episode 27

Sports Noise Posted on November 6, 2024 by Sports NoiseNovember 6, 2024

Welcome to Episode 27 on this beautiful Thursday, October 17th. It’s 65 degrees here in North Texas, and I’m ready to dive into all the latest NFL and MLB playoff action after a little break – had some family in town, so let’s get caught up!

Starting with the NFL: we had some interesting matchups this week. Here’s the quick rundown:

  • Bills beat the Jets
  • Bears took down the Jags
  • Eagles topped the Browns
  • Packers defeated the Cardinals
  • Texans managed to beat the Patriots
  • Ravens overpowered the Commanders
  • Buccaneers outplayed the Saints
  • Colts beat the Titans
  • Chargers defeated the Broncos
  • Bengals took down the Giants
  • Steelers got the Raiders
  • Lions clobbered the Cowboys 47-9 (all field goals for the Cowboys, and no touchdowns!)
  • Falcons defeated the Panthers
  • 49ers beat the Seahawks

The Lions vs. Cowboys game really stood out – Dallas only managed field goals, and they got their last one with just two minutes left. Tough one, Cowboys fans.

Over in the MLB playoffs, we’re down to some exciting matchups:

  • In the ALCS, the Yankees are up 2-0 on the Guardians and play today at 4:08 p.m.
  • For the NLCS, Mets vs. Dodgers kicks off tonight around 8 p.m. The Yankees and Dodgers are currently the favorites for the World Series, but the Guardians and Padres put up a serious fight, and anything can still happen.

In personal news, my fantasy football season is a rollercoaster. I’m sitting at 2-4, coming off a rough loss where the other guy’s defense scored big – they got 17 points, mostly from blocks and interceptions. If only his defense had a regular game, I might’ve snagged that win. But hey, that’s fantasy for you!

Now for some trade news: Davante Adams is now a New York Jet, and Amari Cooper is headed to Buffalo! My uncle, a big Bills fan, was pretty thrilled about that trade, especially after the Bills edged out the Jets in a close game.

Lastly, I’m working on some new content ideas, including an NFL tier list series and some playoff breakdowns. Keep an eye out for that!

Thanks for tuning in, folks – this was Episode 27 of Sports Noise Podcast! Thanks for the support, and I’ll catch y’all soon on Episode 28. Peace!
